Callie

Dear Fran,

Words cannot express the joy that Callie has brought into my life. I have been in Aussies since 1989 - as a competitor, breeder, trainer and lover of the breed. In 2004, I made the decision to take a break from breeding and return to obedience. When I discussed this with you, you told me about this really smart little black tri you had available in your kennel. I remember driving the six hours to your home to meet this young lady. She looked at me, I looked at her, and it was instant love for both of us. And Callie is everything you said she would be -- smart, willing to please, and my best friend.

Thank you for allowing Callie to become a part of my life. She is a joy to live with and a blast to train!

God bless you!

Fiona

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please allow me to tell you what an outstanding job Fran has done and is continuing to do with my Yellow Lab for Service work. My husband has severe gouteosteoathritis and a very bad heart. Fiona has been trained to sit, heel, stay and the rest of the basic commands.

However Fran has gone way beyond that idea with Fiona, Fiona has been trained to make an emergency phone call to 911 so that if I am not home the emergency ambulance will come to take care of his heart needs. My Husband simply has to say to her "Go Call!", Fiona Runs to the phone, knocks it off the cradle and puts the call through.. She can find me any place in the house if my husband tells her "Go find Mom". She bends down so my husband can lean on her to get up from the couch, chair or the bath.

Fiona picks up his cane and other objects Richard needs and hands them to him. From an over exuberant, skittish Lab, through Fran's training now knows who she is and will follow commands and care for my husband.

Fran is a consummate, dedicated trainer. The dogs of the world, and their owners, are lucky to have a person like her in the field of dog training.

Sovereign

It was our good fortune to find Dynasty Canine Training Facility just as our German Shepherd was turning 16 months old. Though good-natured, he was unruly and not able to properly walk on a leash. We wanted a good relationship with our dog and decided he was well worth investing formal training.

We found Fran Withers, the owner and trainer to be knowledgeable and fair with him. Sovereign is a changed dog. He walks on a leash like a gentleman, has much more self-confidence, has a good sit stay and down stay, responds to hand signals, and is no longer dog aggressive.

It is a good feeling to see the change in him and the calming effect it has on him. We believe him to be much happier and content within himself. It has been a very pleasant experience. Many thanks to Fran and Dynasty Canine Training Facility!

Mojo

I thought I'd take a quick moment and let you know how wonderful that little puppy you helped create is doing.

I guess I should start by telling that Spitfire was a good description of this fantastic dog. He is full of spirit and fire and zest for life and is a bundle of energy, but is also the most loving, sweet gentle and affectionate puppy. I think I was a little afraid that he would be so energetic that he might not want to be held or kissed, but boy was I wrong! This puppy loves people and being held and giving kisses all day long - just so long as he can crawl out of your arms and go after our big dog like a tornado or a ball of fire for about 30 minutes every hour or so.

He is a beautiful, adorable puppy with the cutest, most expressive face. I often call him freckles instead of Mojo because of the markings on his face. You can't help but break into a smile every time you look at him because he is just so darn cute!

He is so fast it is amazing. I think that you were absolutely right that he would be an excellent prospect for Agility. Pretty soon, we will take him to obedience school and will probably look into doing some Agility. He actually is behaving incredibly well, probably because he has the constant companionship of our older Aussie, Chester and the ability to run and play all day. Our housekeeper has affectionately nicknamed him "Tornado" in Spanish. FYI, he is learning Spanish from her and seems to be doing quite well in his bilingual accomplishments.

Anyway Fran, I hope you are doing great. I saw the incredible pictures you had on your website of the past litters and the beautiful red tri you have for sale. You just make gorgeous puppies!!!!

I just wanted you to know how fantastic our family is doing with our new puppy. We love him beyond imagination and cannot even remember what our lives were like before him. I think even better than for us, if that is possible, he has made a tremendous difference in the life of our Chester. He went from sleeping all day (and he is only 2 years old) to playing all day and having a constant, loving, companion. They lick each others faces and curl up to sleep together whenever and wherever they are. Mojo has truly become his little brother. That little puppy lights up my life.

Roxy and her Family

Fran has done an excellent job with our French Spaniel Roxy. Now that she has her obedience training and field work training, she is a great home companion and a lot of fun to hunt with - outworking dogs twice her age. Whenever we leave Roxy with Fran for brush-up training, she treats her like her own. We appreciate all of her hard work and the confidence she has instilled in Roxy has made her an awesome working dog/companion.

Sadie

Hello Fran,

It has been a while since we have talked to you about our girl Sadie. Let me start by saying that she has been a joy to our family in more ways than one. She has helped my oldest daughter Maurie laugh and smile in a way we have never seen before (priceless).

Sadie is very well behaved and is a true learner. So far she knows how to sit, lay down, shake, high five, whisper, speak, bow, up, rollover, pick a hand, stay, go to bed, other side, drop and fetch. Currently we are working on her catching ability to play Frisbee.

Sadie loves to go on family trips with us. She has gone to the lake house with us ( loves to ride in the boat), and recently to the beach with the entire family ( loved to run the beach and find crabs).

I have attached a few pictures of Saide so that you can see what a beautiful dog you allowed us to have. One is of her as a puppy, in the sand at the lake house and the most recent picture is all the girls at the beach.

Just a little note, she loves my mom and dad's miniature Aussie named Redford. It is truly amazing that she is such a social dog and her running buddy is nothing more than a 9 pd Rat Terrier (she loves to herd him) named Cooper.

I must run now but I wanted to drop this quick e-mail to let you know how things are going.

Sincerely,
Carla

Other Customer Comments

Hello from Japan.
I got my ASCA pedigree and thought you might enjoy an update. First let me say that if anyone doubts the validity of a puppy temperament test, I'm here to say that for Rosco Red Dog (3/26/04), it couldn't have been more accurate. He is now over a year old, well mannered, very clever, easy to train and wise beyond his years.

Rosco has a wonderful, quirky personality. He seems to have an excellent temperament for therapy, and is liked by all who meet him. Someday I'd like to get back to the East Coast and come for a visit.

Sincerely,
Christy Rew

Fran,

Thanks so much for the quality training programs you offer here - I only wish you could clone yourself and visit every dog-loving family in the country.

I also enjoy your articles in Critter each month, too.

Hello,

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know and reassure you that I have been hired to train one of your pups, Koa, who is now in the Chennells family of San Clemente, CA. They are doing a great job and I'm impressed by what you sent them and he assures me of your integrity as a breeder. This young dog is a piece of cake, very compliant, sensitive to small children, no nipping and very forgiving. His focus is very good for the age also. I'm both impressed and pleased to be working with this pup. To know more about me you may check out my site www.GonetotheDogs.com. Any comments, feel free. I'd appreciate your thoughts in regards to your concern in showing this dog. I have expertise in the area also and would start training for stacking and movement now if this is considered a viable option. Sincerest regards and look for referrals to your breedings in the future.
